This
superblock holds the Denver Performing Arts Complex, the second largest performing
arts complex in the nation. The facility contains: the Buell Theatre, a 2,882-seat theater built in 1991 and
suitable for the largest traveling Broadway productions; the
Boettcher Concert Hall, the 2,634-seat home of the Colorado Symphony, which
will undergo a complete renovation/expansion in 2008-2009; the
Helen Bonfils Theatres/Garner Galleria Theatre, a complex of five smaller
theatres with a total of seating capacity of 1,985; the 1,029-seat Seawell
Grand Ballroom; an 8-story, 1,700-space parking garage; and the Ellie
Caulkins Opera House, a 2,400-seat venue for Colorado Opera and Colorado
Ballet completed in 2005 within the shell of the historic 1908 Denver
Auditorium. |
