Over in Jefferson Park, construction has commenced on the new Element 47 project. After a five year hiatus, we are finally seeing some action on this site and that’s very exciting news for the neighborhood! As a refresher, Element 47 is a four-building, 265-unit apartment project.
Sitting just west of the Interstate 25 corridor, Element 47 will create a nice street wall effect. Renters facing the east side will also have some great views of the Denver skyline and Elitch Gardens. This development will also provide 4,000 square feet of retail. Many projects are starting to come about in the Jefferson Park neighborhood and Element 47 is a great start!
I hope the timing of the commencement of this project is related to the replacement in the near future of the 23rd Avenue and Speer Blvd bridges over I-25. With those being the last two bridges from the 1950s remaining to be replaced with modern, safer, more multi-purpose structures, the final realization of the Denver Central Valley vision will even be closer, as this Element 47 will be a final example of.
Actually its three bridges, not two. I erroneously described the Speer Blvd bridges as one, when obviously there are two twin bridges spanning I-25.
