It has been 7 months since our last ‘hole-in-the-ground’ census and as new projects have started to take off in the past couple of months, there are fresh new holes scattered around the Downtown Denver area. This census will exclude Cherry Creek and will focus on Downtown Denver and its surrounding neighborhoods. In this census, I will give a brief description of each project along with a link to access all of the previous posts associated with that project. Let’s begin!
1 – EnV
Golden Triangle | 16-stories | 224-units | Apartments
2 – 8th and Broadway
Golden Triangle | 7-stories | 200-units | Apartments
Central Downtown | 21-stories | 361-rooms | Hotel
Union Station | 10-stories | 220,000 sq ft | Office

Union Station | 10-stories | 300,000 sq ft | Office
6 – Galvanize 2.0
Lower Highland | 4-stories | 76,000 sq ft | Office
That’s a lot of infill going vertical this year! If you looked closely at both 8th and Broadway and 1601 Wewatta, tower crane bases are up at each site! We should see those cranes up within the next month or so!
Thank you. I wander around town quite a bit, especially in good weather, trying to keep up with the projects. Thursday I was at Cadence, from their roof deck I got a great perspective on things. Denver is a little different than when my ancestors arrived in 1860.
I’m impressed that they’ve already started on the Triangle Building. That wasn’t supposed to be complete until late 2015.
Thanks for the update, Ryan. Just beyond the reach of the southern tip of the Golden Triangle the Burger King has been shut down and the lot fenced off. Have you heard anything about that action?
There is going to be a FirstBank built on that lot with additional retail space.
Ryan, what do you know about the former gas station site at 6th/Speer/Grant?
Also, have you seen the incredible number of holes currently in Jefferson Park?

It was torn down when I drove by this morning.
Also, what is happening on the little triangular parcel at Arapahoe and Speer?
I think they’re just reconfiguring and relandscaping the parking lot
