Today we are going to head back to the Union Station for some exciting news! A new tower crane, at the Triangle building site, is now part of the Union Station skyline!
Here are some pictures of the new tower crane along the 16th Street Mall. The Triangle Building will rise a total of 10-stories; roughly the same height as the Gates building across the street.
If you remember from our announcement post, the Triangle Building will not take up the entire site; like the underground parking structure does. As soon as the parking structure is capped, the north end of the property will be turned into a public plaza with retail.
The Triangle Building is a very exciting project, taking up the last empty lot on the southern side of the 16th Street Mall! 16th and Wewatta Street is going to be a very impressive, and urban intersection within the next couple of years! How exciting!
I just went through Union Station as an Amtrak passenger this past week. While there I learned that former Pres. Bill Clinton will be there for later this week, I think. The south side of the hotel is all done, and they’re finishing up on the north side.
There’s always something exciting going on in Downtown Denver, near Union Station these days!
I wonder what the plaza area will look like? I’m liking this trend of “plaza” type spaces in the LoDo area.
Would you please conduct another crane census? I’m curious to know how many construction cranes there are in downtown Denver and the surrounding area. Thanks
