Continuing our updates of infill projects along Lower Highland’s historic Platte Street is The Lab on Platte, a 73,000 square foot office building tucked in between I-25 and the Denver Beer Company. Back in July, excavation for the project had just begun. The project has since topped off and is coming along nicely:
The Lab on Platte creates a nice street wall along I-25!
Thanks for all the updates on construction in and around The Bottoms; my favorite part of Denver.
Do you know who is going to occupy the retail areas of the building?
John, I don’t know. They may not have retail tenants lined up yet this far out.
Ken- any chance of a 17th street bridge over I-25? The more links between Lohi and Lohi the better.
Hi Jeff,
Not in the near future. I’d be nice, but getting the Highland Bridge built was a huge undertaking that required scraping together funds from numerous sources. However, if it really became a community priority and the neighborhood pushed for it, I suppose it could make its way into a future Denver bond project.
Ken,
Do you know what the plan is for the old United Way building on Central St? I have seen them demolishing the buildings and was curious. Thanks
Hi John,
Yes, it’s going to be a large apartment complex. I’m tracking the project and am waiting for the developer to get back to me with more info and maybe some renderings.
Thanks Ken. That’ll be a pretty big complex I imagine.
Does anyone know of City discussion on what plans they may have to the intersection of Central/20th/Osage/I-25? With Lumina opening soon (potentially 120 cars), The United Way complex on Central, plus all the complexes on Boulder Street, the intersection and surrounding streets can’t handle this much volume
Ken, not sure if you have seen it, but the old United Way building is pretty much torn down. They seem to be moving right along.
Yep, I live three blocks from there. I’ve been in contact with the developers and am waiting on some info to do a post on the project.
I live over that way as well. Looking forward to seeing what it is going to look like. Thanks Ken.
