Since we last visited the Marriott Moxy, back in January, it was just starting to go vertical. Fast forward to present day, the project has now topped out with the exterior work also making significant progress. As a refresher, the Marriott Moxy is a 170-room hotel contained in an eight-story building.
Below are two ground level photos of the project from Josephine Street. Here we can see the “L” configuration of the hotel, and that it rises exactly the same height as its alley neighbor, the Halcyon Hotel.
Here are two photos looking at the Marriott Moxy from a higher perspective. The entire project is wrapped in scaffolding as exterior work is underway. The exterior work you see here is insulation and weather proofing; the final facade elements have not yet gone up. If you need a rendering refresher, head on over to our announcement post.
The Marriott Moxy is expected to open later this year.
I just stayed at the Moxy at the Munich, Germany airport – very nice! Excited for this addition – I think the vibe will fit well within CC.
I went to the Halcyon rooftop bar over the weekend and the Moxy has definitely altered the nice view they once had up there. I guess that’s the price you pay for added density.
I’ve stayed at the Moxy in Tempe, AZ. While it had some very cool features (particularly the open lobby), it was a renovated property and was quite noisy.
I’m curious to see how this property turns out and how it is received in CCN, as the vibe in Tempe was much more millennial focused.
