I’ve just completed an upgrade of the Highland and Prospect district pages, which join Jefferson Park, Auraria, Central Platte Valley, and Ballpark in having the new look. Like the CPV, I’ve broken Highland up into subareas which allows the aerial photos with the project locations to be at a much larger scale than before. While I’ve been upgrading these City Center district pages, I’ve also been adding updated construction photos, new projects, etc.

I am dissapointed that Alexan Prospect development will now be all rental properties. Presently the neighborhood is about equally ballanced between apartments and condo homeowners. It also seems to no longer include ground level retail/commercial space as was planned in the unbuilt prospect plan. These are major changes in the neighborhood plan and Trammel Crowe should get together with comunity members. Do you agree Ken?
I do agree there should be some retail associated with the Alexan development. Regarding balace of rental/for sale, there are some additional condo projects in Prospect that are down the road so in the long term, I think the balance will be there.
The old industrial building at 18th St. and 32nd in the Lower Highland area has been demolished. Does anyone know what is planned for that site?
Ken, do you see anyway the prospect community can help shape the plan of Alexan development?
I suppose the land is already zoned for their use but is there additional input homeowners in the area can add during planning/permitting?
Some things I am interested in…a pedestrian bridge linking the community to Cuernavaca Park….more ground level retail/dining
Thanks,
Keith
Keith, I would start with your city councilperson. The city has only certain influence of a project and cannot make the developers do certain things (like the bridge or even the retail) but politically they might be influenced to change their plans. Alexan is the brand for Trammell Crow Residential, a huge national developer. So give your councilperson a try first. Thanks.
Denver Business Journal (Jan 25-31, 2008) deeds of trust section for Denver County shows 'Canwest Invest LLC to Frontview 40 LLC, 921 Santa Fe Drive, property at 2600 Front View Crest, Denver, 80211, River Front Town Highlands, $1,900,000'. Looks like 2600 Frontview is about to start…or changing hands.
