When we last checked in on the Circa Building (previously 1615 Platte), the four-story mixed-use development at the corner of 16th and Platte Street was a large hole in the ground; the concrete walls for the underground parking levels were being poured. Eight months later, the building has topped off and the exterior facade is taking shape.
First, here are a few new renderings, courtesy of the Circa Building‘s developer, Unico Properties, and their project architect, Open Studio Architecture.
Let’s tour the site, starting at 16th and Platte, the building’s anchor corner next to the Highland Bridge where the largest of the ground-floor retail spaces is planned. In the middle of building along Platte Street will be the office lobby, with a smaller retail space located at the end of the building next to the Denver Beer Company.
The Circa Building’s L-shape design wraps around the Highland Bridge’s circular ramp, providing a sense of enclosure to the bridge’s plaza.
The structure’s brick facade is starting to go in along the Interstate 25 side. From across the highway, the Circa Building fits in nicely with its modern and historic neighbors.
The Circa Building is slated to open in the first half of 2018.
Great looking building and more infill for Platte Street!
Any new info on when the office building will start construction at 15th & Platte? And what about the redevelopment of the office building next to the river between 15th and REI? I had heard that will be gutted and renovated with a building expansion on the parking lot to the west.
