When we last visited Baker, there were a couple of projects that were very close to completion with development momentum continuing in the Broadway Park area.

COMPLETED

Neon Local. This 238-home project is now complete and fills in what used to be a very large gap along the Broadway corridor. The high-quality materials and similar scaling to its surroundings makes this project a win for the neighborhood. Neon Local was developed by Holland Partner Group and designed by OZ Architecture.

Atlantis Apartments. The Atlantis Apartments provides much-needed housing for those with disabilities. In addition to the 60 homes this project provides, the ground floor will consist of 5,140 square feet of office and training space, run by the Atlantis Community, along with a 1,250 square foot community room. The Atlantis Apartments were developed by the Atlantis Community, built by Pinkard Construction, and designed by Humphries Poli Architects.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

PDG Design District. Rising seven stories, this project has topped out with facade work underway. When complete, the Broadway Park redevelopment will contain its first 342 homes.

AMLI Broadway Park. AMLI Residential and Milender White have broken ground on a new project next door to PDG Design District. This new project consists of 373 homes and 20,000 square feet of retail facing Bannock Street and a new plaza named Mercado Plaza. Here are some renderings of AMLI Broadway Park courtesy of D4 Urban, the master developer for Broadway Park.

Mercado Plaza will be located on the south end of AMLI Broadway Park. Below are some preliminary renderings of the plaza.

At the project site, the surface parking lot has been ripped up and excavation is underway.

It is great to see a suburban shopping center, with loads of surface parking, start to get redeveloped and integrated to an already established neighborhood. The Alameda Station, less than a half mile away, will also be a great amenity to the new residents in the area.
