Back on July 21st, Ken had his largest turnout yet at a Union Station tour (68 people!). What was special about this particular tour was Dana Crawford, Denver’s most distinguished historic preservationist, who spoke and gave some great insight on the Union Station hotel project. So why attend a tour? You can see history in the making and see an entire neighborhood be built from the ground up. Learn about the massive transit project Denver is undergoing right now and ask any questions you have about it. This is a very exciting time for Denver and you don’t want to miss it!

Seeing who was going to be there and the anticipated turnout, I had to bring my camera and take pictures of course! Here are Ken and Dana in touring action (click to embiggen):

Before the tour I took a couple pictures of the front of the historic station. As you can see, the North Wing building (right) is in full swing with tower crane and all. There has been a tenant signed for the South Wing building, so that should get underway very soon, as well as work on the historic station itself.

One of my favorite things that are going to be disappearing for good are these chandeliers. I don’t think there is one person who would disagree with me on that!

Come attend the next tour if you haven’t in a while (or at all). There’s a lot going on and it’s at a very exciting stage right now! Tours are normally offered the first and third Saturday of each month. The next tour is Saturday, August 18. Check this blog early in the week to confirm that a tour will be offered that coming Saturday.
