We have a short update for you on the 1975 18th Street mixed-income residential project in Downtown Denver’s Union Station district. This 108-unit apartment project (now called Ashley Union Station on the Integral website) combines affordable and market-rate units in a 4-story building. For our first post on this project when it was announced back in 2014, go here.
What’s new about this project is that it is under construction (as of a couple of months ago) and we have a more recent rendering of the development. First, here’s a photo of the site from this afternoon. Visible in this image are three projects under construction adjacent to each other. On the left is the Union Tower West project, in the center foreground is this project, 1975 18th Street, and in the center background is Pivot Denver (formerly 17W). It’s quite a scene if you’re a construction junkie like me!
This updated rendering is from the project’s development application to the City earlier this year and it matches what’s shown on the Integral website, so I’m guessing this is probably the final design or darn close to it. RNL Design is the architect.
1975 18th Street should be finished later in 2016.
A little bit better than the original rendering!
A LOT better than the original rendering!
Yeah, that original rendering was putrid! This is A lot better!
I’m really liking it. No wow factor yet it looks good and ties in well with the surrounding properties. I love how the development “gap” in between 17th and 19th is quickly filling up. This just adds to the progress. Once 16 & 1709 Chestnut as well as the Coloradan (1700 Wewatta) break ground next year (hopefully) this area will be even more transformed in a very good way. Exciting!
