Today, DenverInfill spotted some movement over by Coors Field at the stadium’s “West Lot” parking area. While we do not have any details on whether construction has officially started on the Colorado Rockies Mixed-Use project, there is a strong indicator that pre-construction activities are taking place; namely, the removal of the surface parking lot.
Surface parking lots are the soul-sucking black holes in our urban fabric so their removal is something to be celebrated. Here are a couple photos of a freshly eradicated parking lot.
Since this development will be a full city block, it is going to fill quite the gap by Coors Field.
As we mentioned above, construction has not officially started but we will keep a keen eye on this site as this exciting development rolls forward.
Thanks Ryan………………
I was surprised the lot was scraped before the final homestand. Even though the underlying deal with Coors Field rent was terrible for the city, at least a potentially exciting project will fill that major hole in LoDo. Did we know if it beat the Green Roof deadline or is that quietly being ignored by the city?
Maybe they’ll have a groundbreaking ceremony before the last (regular season) game. Go Rox!
I’m excited to see this go up. With the addition of 18th/Walnut (hopefully), LoDo is starting to fill in the holes! It’s too bad Fado’s couldn’t have held on a little longer. Soon there will be a lot more patrons enjoying the activity in this area.
It’s 18th/Market, man. And the Irish pub was called Fado.
