Mill Creek Residential’s new apartment community along Blake Street between 28th and 29th streets is complete, so it’s time we close out this project with a final update.
Known during the development process as Modera River North Arts, this project is now known as just Modera River North since another project by Mill Creek at 29th and Brighton Boulevard that was initially known as Modera River North has been rebranded as Post River North. Anyway, this project adds 183 homes to the downtown area to accommodate Denver’s growing population. Here are some recent photos.
First we have the view at the corner of 29th and Blake looking south, followed by the view at 28th and Blake looking east:

And let’s conclude with the new streetscape along Blake Street:
Welcome to the neighborhood, Modera River North!
I wish more places would be able to put in the streetscaping that is provided here. The neighborhood needs more clean sidewalks and trees, badly..
I can’t tell if this building looks good, or if it looks like it belongs in a third world country.
If you don’t mind sharing a bit more, what about this project makes you think of a third world country?
The corrugated metal siding reminds me of the shacks that would sit on, beside, or hanging off the side of buildings in some of the Latin America capitals I’ve been to. Obviously this building looks cleaner, but it still reminds me of places like San Jose, Costa Rica. That’s all.
Kinda wish developers would stop branding these things “arts.” It’s more than a little insulting when prominent studios are being forced out of the area at an alarming rate and only a handful of people who make their living in the industry can afford the rent.
Agree with Ryan completely. RiNo Arts District is now just RiNo. This building is the cheap knockoff of something maybe from the 90’s. Three buildings sort of mashed together in a post-modernist-deconstructivist cheesy cliche’, clunky sort of way. Far from being top notch, but not the worse either. Just mediocre blah. Annoying and bothersome to look at. I don’t love it, I don’t hate it. I just don’t like it.
