Let’s swing over to Platte Street and check in on Platte Fifteen. The last time we made a visit, we were able to observe the dramatic cross-laminated timber beams used for the primary structure of the building. This is the first building of its kind in the Denver area.
Let’s begin by looking at the project from along 15th and Platte Street. Most of the glass and brick facade is now complete, with the exception of the brick along Platte Street.
Platte Fifteen completes the corner at 15th and Platte Street, and nicely contributes to the street wall along Platte Street.
Platte Fifteen is shaping up to finish within the next couple of months. We will swing back around for a final update once the building is complete.

I know people lamented the loss of the old Natural Grocers/Confluence Kayaks/Shakespeare’s Billiards (old school!) building on this corner but I think this is a fantastic addition to the area. It is funny to see how outdated the Commons Park apartment buildings look in the context of all of this new construction. I wonder when they will redevelop…
Actually I think they all play pretty well together – Commons Park was the pioneer in this area, and it’s finally starting to not stick out like a sore thumb with all the new development. I also give the Commons Park development kudos for maintaining retail and a nice human scale along Platte, at a time when many local developers wouldn’t have the foresight to do that…
