Block 232,
the full block between 14th & 15th, held a key position fronting Denver's
historic Civic Center Park, yet was dominated by an ugly surface parking
lot. The existing Annex One building, visible in the aerial photo, was
still in use by the City, but its low profile and neglected condition left
it incapable of serving as a distinguished member of the icons ringing Civic
Center Park. With the completion of the Webb Building and the complete
restoration of the Annex One building into a single facility, this block
finally lives up to its important location. Next door, the tiny
triangle-shaped Block 233, holds a day care center for employees and
visitors to the Civic Center area... a good use for such a small site.
