It’s Tower Crane Tuesday at DenverInfill!
If you like watching a tower crane be assembled, I suggest you head down to the 1401 Lawrence site as soon as possible.
Like its tower crane, 1401 Lawrence is going vertical!

Thursday 10:30 AM Update:
Thanks to DenverInfill reader S. Autrey, we have two final images showing the tower crane in its finished state—and a pretty sweet view of the LoDo/Union Station skyline as well!
Saturday 2:00 PM Update:
Will this be a growing crane? (I do not know the technical name) That does not look like 22 stories to me.
Agreed, I’m not sure how these work but no way that is anywhere near the final building height of 300’+.
I love cranes, no doubt about it, but I’m curious what type of crane this is, luffing jib (cool urban tight spaces type crane) or top slewing (the type we are all used to). Ken you’re holding out with the pictures!! Regardless, they’ll ‘jump’ it as the building rises and I believe the proper term is a self-erecting crane. (Like so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx5Qt7_ECEE)
Right now the top of the crane is only about 8 stories so certainly it must grow as the project progresses. Ryan, I think it is going to be a regular top slewing crane, based on the long horizontal cross piece that they are assembling on the ground, soon to be lifted and attached to the tower.
This is great stuff, Ken. Please show us the mast extension, when it happens.
