Another surface parking lot in Denver’s Uptown district is being eradicated!

The Colorado Health Foundation, a nonprofit public health policy and advocacy organization, is moving their headquarters from their current leased location in Glendale to a new facility of their own in Uptown at the southeast corner of East 18th Avenue and Pennsylvania Street. The site is currently fenced off and a ceremonial groundbreaking was held earlier this month. Construction should begin soon.

Here’s the location outlined on a Google Earth aerial, followed by two recent site photos:

The new Colorado Health Foundation headquarters will be a three-story building containing approximately 32,500 square feet with one level of underground parking. The project was designed by Davis Partnership and includes a number of “health positive” features that will promote the health of visitors and employees. With One City Block located diagonally across the 18th and Pennsylvania intersection and with other new infill projects nearby, the new Colorado Health Foundation building will continue Uptown’s steady recovery from a severe case of parkinglotitis. Congratulation Colorado Health Foundation on your new future home and welcome to the Uptown neighborhood!
