Over the next few days we are going to take a break from all the great Downtown Denver development and take a look at some significant mixed-use and residential developments proposed in Cherry Creek. Today, we are going to start out by taking a look at a new apartment project proposed on the southeast corner of East First Avenue and Steele Street: Steele Creek Apartments. Here is a map with the site outlined in yellow.
BMC Investments purchased the site last year and plans to build a 12-story, 250-unit apartment building with 16,000 square feet of retail. Half of the units will be one bedroom and the other half will be split between studio and two-bedroom units. Amenities will include a rooftop deck, landscaped courtyards and a fitness center. Here is a rendering of Steele Creek:
Currently, there is a construction fence around the site which contains two 2-story buildings and a 4-story building. These buildings will be demolished to make way for the 12-story apartment building.
BMC Investments plans to break ground on Steele Creek within the next couple months. This project is a great start to adding density to an already moderately dense neighborhood. Stay tuned for some more new project announcements in Cherry Creek!
Interesting! Who did the rendering?
Looks like the site might also include some land on the other side of the alley. At least the parcel that has the old cleaners building on it.
