The Confluence is quickly climbing onto the Denver skyline. The tower is now officially halfway up at 17 stories. For today’s post, we are going to look at the project from both a ground level and aerial point of view!
From various perspectives, such as Speer Boulevard and the Platte River, the Confluence already has a tall presence.
In our last update, we mentioned that the mixed glass and paneling started to go up. Present day, the glass curtain wall is starting to climb on the southeast side of the tower.
For quite some time, there were two tower cranes to help build the project; one for the low-rise structure and one for the tower. The tower crane for the low-rise structure has been taken down as it has recently topped out.
How about some aerials? Here are four different elevations of The Confluence. Here we can see the small footprint of this tower and how much of an impact it’s going to make when it doubles in height over the next few months.
17 stories down, 17 stories to go!
It would be great to see some side-by-side photos in the final update of this project when the times comes to show the past and present of the impact of this new high-rise.
disappointed to see all the low-rise projects just to the east.
I think if those properties with the “low rise condos” were still empty in our present day – then you’d probably see a row of high rises lining the river. It would be our version of Chicago’s skyline against the water or Miami’s skyline against the ocean. People love to be near water and Denver has just a little to go around. Of course, those initial condos were developed in a different era before the real-estate market took off downtown.
Unfortunately that was driven, for the most part, by the zoning in the area. Almost everything fronting Little Raven has a height limit of 55′ or 80′. Due to code and construction type, an 80′ building does not make a ton of sense, so you end up with a lot of 55′ buildings.
Any movement on the project to add apartments above the parking garage for 1900 16th St?
Been wondering this myself.
I haven’t heard anything, or seen anything filed with the city as of late.
