Franklin Square: Thanks to Andy, a DenverInfill regular, here’s a couple of renderings of the Franklin Square project, a 13-unit development at the corner of E. 17th Avenue and Franklin:
New Embassy Suites: Back over a year ago, it was announced that an Indiana developer would be building a new 27-story Embassy Suites Hotel at the corner of 14th and Stout, along with a 20-story Homewood Suites next door. Not much has been heard about the project since then. Recently, Downtown Denver’s existing Embassy Suites Hotel was closed as part of the conversion to the Ritz Carlton, leaving Downtown with no hotel carrying the Embassy Suites name. A friend of mine, Rob, inquired to Embassy Suites corporation about the status of their new project in Downtown. Their response: A new Embassy Suites tower in Downtown Denver should open in the fourth quarter of 2008. In order to make that schedule, I’m guessing they would need to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2006 (that’s almost now) or, at the latest, the first quarter of 2007. So when are we going to hear something official about a groundbreaking? How about a rendering?
Highland Bridge Lofts: Urban Ventures, the developer planning the Highland Bridge Lofts at the corner of 16th and Central in the Highland neighborhood, recently launched the full version of their project website, including floorplans and unit pricing. According to the website, construction should begin in November 2006, with completion in late Fall 2007. Check out www.highlandbridgelofts.com.
Denver Union Station Master Plan: It took a while, but finally, both presentations by the two developer teams competing for the master developer job at Denver Union Station have been uploaded to the Master Plan website at www.denverunionstation.org. Until recently, all that was available on the Master Plan website were the executive summaries, neither of which included even a site plan. Now the website has both teams’ presentations in their entirety. Also, both teams have recently launched websites to promote their plans. For the Union Station Partners proposal, go to www.unionstationpartners.com. For the East West Partners/Continuum proposal, go to www.unionstationnow.com. Finally, some good detailed information on both to evaluate.
