The Highland district’s 32nd and Zuni historic area is getting a new infill project: 3131 Zuni. The project consists of eight flats ranging from 1,600 to 2,700 SF in size in a four story building, located just one door down from Pasquini’s Highland. Construction is already underway. Here’s a rendering:
The project is being developed by Montano Development, marketed by the Tamburello Team/Distinctive Properties, and designed by David H. O’Brien Architecture. Please visit the project website, www.3131zuni.com, for more information, including floorplans.
What a nice building. It's modern but not gimmicky, dense but not out of place in the neighborhood. Hopefully this one will get built.
I guess it might have been good to include retail space given its proximity to 32nd and Zuni, but there are quite a few retail locations in historic buildings nearby that are empty as of yet. For now, it's great to see the density in highlands increasing, making those empty restaurant & retail locations more viable.
Glad to see the Highlands is turning into Denver's modern Mecca,
but yet, not interfering with its historical integrity. The Highlands rule!!!
Love it! Brick and glass; you never go wrong.
Ryan its already under construction.
As a resident of the area, I am happy to see this quality of a building and design going up. It is very modern, but adds to the character of the area rather than taking away from it. Some projects in the area are shamelessly trying to cram in as much square footage at the lowest cost possible without much sense of design or context.
Gallup Development is the greatest offender in terms of poor design and ignorance of the context. Their project in the Scottish Village is a monstrosity on such a narrow and unique street. I can only hope that buyers will not reward them.
Progress is being made at the 3131 Zuni site!! The building has windows in and all doors have been ordered and the building will be completely secure by September's end. The roof is on and electrical, plumbing and HVAC contractors are on site daily. For an up close and personal look at the project join us for Hard Hat Tours every Sunday from 1-4!!
