Today we are heading down to the Union Station Neighborhood to take a look at the Delgany Apartments site. Since my last update, the little black brick building (Energy House) was demolished to make way for the new building. Since its demolition, site preparations have commenced.
After having this site completely cleared, you can start realizing how large of a building this is going to be. As a reminder, this is going to rise 10-stories, the same height as 2020 Lawrence. It will provide 284-units of apartment housing.
The Delgany Apartments will provide this lot with a much needed urban upgrade along 15th Street. This picture clearly shows how dense this area is already; so this is a very welcome addition and isn’t too overwhelming for the area.
Looking at the site from the other side, the dig has begun. Two levels of underground parking will cover the entire site.
I’m very excited to see a complete street wall going from LoDo to Central Platte Valley along 15th Street. The Delgany Apartments are right on schedule and are expected to be complete by early 2014.
Very excited for this development! Not just because it eliminates some surface parking, but because it completes a fully built out city block…rare stuff in this here parking-centric city.
Wish there were some renderings of the Wewatta side of the building.
…and on that same note…every building will have zero setback and great connection with the sidewalk…no 1970s plazas to “fix” the city!
No updates in a week?? Come on, let’s see something!
Busy week! But stay tuned! I have some more this week on its way!
