Today we are going to head to 16th Street Mall and Wynkoop Street to take a final look at the South Wing Building also known as One Union Station! The South Wing building was opened around the same time as the North Wing Building and is occupied by Antero Resources.

One Union Station has a very similar look to its northern neighbor. The two buildings share the same brickwork pattern, and glass curtain wall facing the historic station. They do, however, have some slight differences. One Union Station does not feature balconies on the third and fourth floor nor does it have a setback in the glass curtain wall facing Wynkoop Plaza.

The South Wing building also sits right by the commuter rail train hall with a connecting path to Wynkoop Plaza. Ground floor retail is featured on three sides of the building. The alley between the future 16th & Wewatta Hotel and Office Complex will not have retail and will only be used for emergency vehicle and underground parking access.

There are two retail pads along 16th Street Mall which belong to 1stBank and Protein Bar. Pedestrians walking along the building will also have a very unique view of the back room operations at the Thirsty Lion. Instead of a blank wall, the Thristy Lion has their store room and kitchen in plain sight, through the glass. This is something we don’t get to see much in Denver. Neat!

The two wing buildings are activating a part of Downtown Denver that used to be nothing but parking lots and a partially used train station. The impact these two buildings make is just phenomenal. Welcome to Downtown Denver and Union Station, One Union Station!
