Good news! DenverInfill has learned from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, the brokerage firm handling leasing for the proposed 1401 Lawrence office tower, that the official groundbreaking for the project will take place on October 1, 2014. For more about this project, visit our last update here.
By the way, the tower has gained a floor since our last report. It now will be 22 stories tall and contain 298,000 square feet of office space and 8,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. Toronto-based First Gulf Corporation is the developer. For more information including a downloadable PDF with additional building details, visit the First Gulf’s project website.
What exactly is on the corner of 14th and Lawrence? It’s some kind of building but even using street view I can’t figure out what it is. It will be nice to get rid of that parking lot.
That is the old sales center for the original 1401 Lawrence condo project.
Woohoo! Great news!
Fantastic!! Great cornerstone project.
Sure it’s alright but it’s no dreamy beanstock matter here. Conservative with a capitol C. I guess I’ll always be sad that the original plans from the same company didn’t get built; the 51 floor sliver of a skyscraper wouldn’t have had to fill out the entire parcel to have been more impressive. It seems to me Denver has not been all that gutsy (leap and the net will appear) in decades. Everything done is all too reasonable to market blah blah.
