Back in June we announced that construction had begun on a new Fairfield Inn and Suites hotel at the corner of W. 27th Avenue and Wyandot Street in Lower Highland. Recently, we stopped by to take a couple of construction update photos:

It looks like this project is on pace to open next spring.
why paint plywood?
I was wondering the same thing?
Most likely not paint but a liquid applied weather barrier.
I would imagine that the Ramada and Super 8 hotels on the other side of Spear will soon have the incentive to build up a bigger and better hotel on their property. They really have the best views of the city at that hill-top, which could command bigger premiums as a hotel destination.
I hope so, but the property is owned by the University of Nevada and leased to the hotel companies. I think the development incentives are all screwy and we might be stuck with those hotels for a while.
