Back in July 2015, we announced a new project, 351 South Jackson Street by Gables Residential, proposed near the recently completed 360 South Monroe project. However, 351 South Jackson Street is the third and final phase Gables has planned for this area and we never covered the second phase.
If you have been around Colorado Boulevard and Alameda Avenue recently, you may have noticed a tower crane and busy construction site. This is the project site for the second phase, named Gables Cherry Creek II.
To better orient you, here is an aerial with the project site outlined.
Gables Cherry Creek II will feature 140 apartment units contained in an eight-story building. In comparison to 360 South Monroe, this new building will have larger floor plans and outdoor spaces as you can see in the renderings below. These renderings are courtesy of Smith Jones Partners, the project developer.
The materials for this building will mimic its neighbor, 360 South Monroe, with a brick, glass, and stucco facade. Since the building is rising eight-stories, concrete or steel will be used for the structure. The eighth floor will hold all of the amenities including a rooftop pool, hot tub, outdoor lounging area and indoor amenity club area.
Cherry Creek’s second wave of development is firing up adding hundreds of apartments and condos along with a handful of office and hotel projects.
Regarding the Cherry Creek infill/construction boom, do you have any news for what’s planned for the location at the corner of Detroit and 2nd Avenue? I often frequent Duke’s Corner Store, and they’re closing as of 30 November because that building is set to be demolished. Any idea as to what’s planned to go in there?
8 story office building by the same developer as the Halcyon Hotel and Steele Creek.
