Formally known as 351 South Jackson, Gables Jackson Street is now under construction. This project is going up in the Alameda Triangle area of the Cherry Creek neighborhood; bound by Colorado Boulevard, Cherry Creek North Drive, and East Alameda Avenue. In an already dense part of Cherry Creek, Gables Jackson Street will be the tallest development in the Alameda Triangle, rising a total of 12 stories.

Two tower cranes have recently been erected on the project site, including a type of crane that is rare to Denver. The luffing jib tower crane, only around Downtown Denver during the construction of Skyhouse and DaVita HQ, is unique in many ways. These cranes are designed to operate in tight urban areas, can lift more than your average tower crane, and have a variable working radius versus a set radius with a regular tower crane. However, there are some cons as well. These cranes are significantly more expensive to erect and use, and the working process is typically slower especially in high wind conditions. Here is a fun fact sheet comparing the differences of the two cranes in the photos below.

Now on to the project site. Excavation for the 12-story, 242-unit building is now complete. In addition, foundation work is starting to wrap up and supports for the single underground floor are starting to go in.

Here are two more photos of the project site looking south. Gables Jackson Street will occupy approximately two-thirds of the block between East Alameda and East Dakota Avenue.

A 12-story building in this part of Cherry Creek will have quite the impact and continue the string of density that goes from Colorado Boulevard, the easternmost part of Cherry Creek, all the way to Downtown Denver.
