Since our announcement back in September, the Denver Health Outpatient Center has made incredible progress. In the past six months, an existing building was demolished, along with a surface parking lot, site preparation took place, a tower crane was erected, and the steel structure for the new building is almost topped out.
Let’s look at some photos from last week. The project will top out at seven stories which is right around the corner as work has already begun on the top floor.
The building bridges over West 7th Avenue which calls for extra structural support. Below are a couple of photos highlighting the fortified steel structure.
After the structure tops out, work should begin on the exterior elements. We will stop by in a couple months to check back in.
Did they really have to keep W 7th ave? What’s the point? It doesn’t go anywhere either way.
It gives access to Denver Health…
This will become the ugliest new addition to this part of town in a long long time when it completes. Startling to see it rise out of the ground and the impacts it will have on views from places like Cap Hill. Seriously…just wait until it is complete. 🙁
I think you’re being really dramatic, its only 7 stories tall. Replacing a 5 story building. There are taller buildings nearby that already block mountain views. and there will be more in the future, like the new apartments at 7th & Grant.
Just wait until they finish the 7 story parking structure to the south across Acoma….that will probably win as the ugliest building in the area.
# 1 and #2 then
Oh no. Not the view plane! How will the NIMBYs cope?
It is not about the mountain view plane…not one bit…..The views I am referring to are the ones of this structure itself. It is a disappointment to say the least. I agree with everyone else that the Parking Deck supporting it will be even worse and totally take the cake of awfulness.
