Let’s wrap up the week with a quick “above the infill” update on The Confluence, a 34-story, 288-unit apartment project going up in the Central Platte Valley. As mentioned in the title, this post will be full of aerials.
Who am I kidding? It was a fantastic sunset last night after the storms rolled through and The Confluence site happened to be in a few frames as I was flying my quad around. So as I write you saying that excavation is underway at The Confluence and there is a big hole in the ground, you probably have already moved on, distracted by the aerial photos below. Just make sure you click to embiggen!
Have a great weekend DenverInfill readers!
OMG that’s an insane amount of water! Cherry Creek looks like the Herengracht in Amsterdam. Everything’s so green, dense and rivers full of water. Please get these photos to the Tourism Board stat. Can’t tell you how tired I am of seeing the same photo of Denver pop up in national publications or rankings…the grainy one from Civic Center Park, pre-Denver Post and Webb Buildings, taken in the middle of a freakin’ drought.
Beautiful pictures. And I agree with UrbanZen: Cherry Creek looks awesome, cool to see a real river right up along the residences. Picture. View of the river at the height of spring runoff from the 34th floor of the Confluence!
Been watching the excavation, which goes deeper than the stream and river. There’s a sump pump running continuously. It’s going to be interesting to see how they seal out water around — and under — the foundation.
Awesome photos, Ryan!
Great pics!
Great pics! The placement of this building will allow for some spectacular views.
Bravo on the pictures. Those are really spectacular.
This building will be very out of scale for the surrounding neighborhood. Too bad the property wasn’t used to expand the park a bit.
From what I can tell, it will actually shade a good portion of the park, possibly including the “beach” area used by lots of folks from surrounding neighborhoods.
Has anyone been through River Commons lately. The whole area is being over-run by homeless junkies. It seriously looks like the Occupy Crowd made a permanent home. There is trash, and graffiti everywhere. The city has gone so far as to close off 60% of the park to stop the damage.
This building is going to have a hard time getting tenants unless they do something to clean up the are.
They built a tower crane at the site yesterday. It does not look tall enough for this building, and the boom doesn’t appear to cover the whole site. Perhaps this is a 2-crane event with a taller one going in later when they start constructing the buildings tall tower portion?
These are self-erecting cranes that can grow as the building does.
Ah cool. I was wondering if that was the case, but didn’t get a good enough look to make that determination. Pretty rare in the area to have a self-erecting crane.
