That big hole in the ground at the corner of 15th and Wynkoop on Block 013 is slowly becoming underground parking for Hines’ 1515 Wynkoop project. Here’s a recent photo looking down into the site:
1515 Wynkoop should be completed late 2008.

I hope with the completion of 1515 Wynkoop (and the EPA building next door) will spur some updating of the Saddlery (SP?) building across the street. That building has so much potential, but the bricked up windows and loading dock taking the place of a sidewalk are barriers to pedestrian activity.
While I'm glad that some developments have chosen to stray away from the traditional brick lodo look, its also good to perpetuate the feel in the mix of things. I'm very excited about this building.
Very slowly.
Anonymous 11:49: I could have sworn that Ken blogged about the Colorado Saddlery last year some time–didn't someone buy it with the intention of lofting it (and giving it a ground level sidewalk?)?
(historymystery, forgetting a password)
historymystery… you're right. I did blog about the Saddlery building getting renovated. Then a few months later, they put the project on indefinite hold. Not sure what's going on with it now.
