A key lot across from Coors Field is finally being developed. Work has begun on Broadstone Blake Street which is very exciting for Blake Street. Another lot will be eliminated and our urban fabric is getting restored.
This is a 6-story development that will provide the ballpark neighborhood with 164 units. A great development that will provide Downtown Denver with more residents and help Blake street become a great urban street. For more details and renderings check out Ken’s post here.
Who would want a street-level entrance to an apartment that is across the street from the ballpark? Drunk fans sitting in front of your door, empty bottles, and other unpleasant stuff. This project is not well thought out.
A lot of people, including my self if I were renting. I go to about 10-15 games a year and I don’t see what you’re describing when I leave the games. Not to mention that even if what you say is true it would be a small amount of the time that you actually live there.
Ryan, will people be able to see the field from the rooftop? Ala Wrigley Field?
I think this would be a sports fan’s dream! Plus you are so close to the nightlife and restaurants downtown. If drunk fans, empty bottles and other unpleasant stuff isn’t your thing, Colorado has some beautiful open spaces in the Front Range that might better suit your living style. 🙂
Other than opening day and maybe the fireworks games, the scene around Coors Field is pretty mellow. Extra special mellow when they’re in the middle of a 100-loss season. By 10:00 everybody has moved on to LoDo or up 21st to Larimer. And if you’ve got lower level seats along the 1st base line and you have to take a leak…awesome!
There are probably a great many people who would want the “excitement” of living across from the ballpark. Different tastes as always.
What gives with these rentals? Developers are cannibalizing themselves in the Ballpark area and you can bet that when the market turns back to home ownership, (and it will) the Ballpark will be a ghost town full of vacancies. There are currently over 600 other units already under construction within a few blocks of this new project and it is only a matter of time before the rent wars begin!
Secondly and more confusing is why Alliance would close up the existing views of Coors Field from their 2101 Market Street project? You can bet that those folks will be leaving in droves!
