Back in May we announced that construction had commenced on Union Tower West; a 12-story, 180-room hotel and 100,000 square foot office tower. Today, we have a quick update on the project.
An orange Piener 405 tower crane has been installed on site bringing the total crane count to four in the Union Station neighborhood. Here are some pictures I took Monday evening of the new crane. You can also see that 17W is beginning to rise above street-level!
If you feel like geeking out on the capabilities of this particular crane, make sure you check out its fact sheet!
Thanks for the update! Do we know what brand of hotel this will be?
In a past press release it was noted as a Hotel Indigo
Thanks for the crane info. Cool stats to think about next time I’m walking around DT
.
The shot with the three cranes in all their glory is awesome! Kinda sad though that so many of the trees at the light rail station have died. I was impressed that such large expensive trees were planted here. What a shame they didn’t survive.
(btw…the way finding sign is ridiculous…hope that’s temporary.)
The way finding sign i believe is permanent. The dead trees are an unfortunate outcome of living on the high plains. A lot of trees dont make it passed their first or second year. Plus, I wonder where the trees are coming from too if they’re just diseased or not cultivated well. Also, they could be planted in such mass quantities that the landscapers are not taking the proper precautions to proper planting. Hopefully, they will get replaced.
With all the construction cranes up or going up in Downtown Denver, it would be cool to see the total number or even better an image of all the cranes up in Downtown Denver.
