Construction on Southern Land Company‘s 302-unit residential development at 18th and Central in Lower Highland is moving along nicely. In our first post on the project, the site was being prepped for construction. Today, let’s visit the site and catch up on its progress.
View from 18th and Boulder looking southeast at the larger of the project’s two buildings. The underground parking is up to the street level:
View from approximately 19th and Boulder looking southeast. 19th Street in Lower Highland (just one block long) is really just an alley.
View of the smaller of the project’s two buildings along Boulder between 19th and 20th Streets behind Prost Brewing:
But wait! That’s not all! How about an updated rendering, courtesy of Southern Land Company? EVstudio is the architect.
That’s the view of the 18th and Central corner where the project’s ground-floor restaurant/retail spaces are located. Those are some shiny streets!
Will the building behind Prost look the same?
Looks like it will turn out better than I originally thought. Lends optimism for their project in Uptown.
Not a bad looking project. Still lamenting the loss of the great tree canopy along Boulder Street though. Wasn’t the rationale something like…”well they’re ash trees, and someday, possibly, maybe in 15-20 years, they’ll all die due to the emerald ash borer, so let’s cut them down now instead of enjoying their magnificence for a dozen more years or god forbid even possibly thinking about treating one great grove of trees.
