Let’s check in on the Alexan LoHi project at 32nd and Tejon in Lower Highland. This new development will provide 106 homes for people looking to live in a walkable, transit-friendly neighborhood. Bus stops right at the corner offer access to both the 32 and the 44 routes with a straight shot into downtown.
Since our last update in February, the five-story structure has topped off and soon the building’s brick facade will be installed. Alexan LoHi will add around 9,500 square feet of ground-floor retail/restaurant space to an area brimming with similar destinations.
Last weekend we stopped by and took a few photos, starting with these from the corner of 32nd and Tejon:
Here are two more, looking back at the corner from farther down the block:

Alexan LoHi should be finished in early 2018.
While I’m always glad to see increased housing opportunities, projects like this highlight the need to find and support architects that understand the architectural identity of these Denver neighborhoods.
I don’t think it is simple as that. Take a look at the architect’s work on their website and you will find some very attractive, good quality work. The difference is neighborhood/district design guidelines. When those are in place, the result can be some very nice looking projects; when those are missing, it is hit or miss.
Does anyone know what retail is planned? Also, has anyone else noted the sign for a new office building just a block down 32nd, believe the cross street is Vallejo.
