Construction for 99 South Broadway, a significant project in the Baker neighborhood, is in full swing. Before we get to the pictures, we have a special treat for you; an updated rendering of this project. This rendering, courtesy of Nash Communities, highlights 99 South Broadway from the corner of Broadway and West Bayaud Avenue looking west.
If you look closely, you can see that the facade will be comprised mostly of brick with great open storefronts along Broadway. In addition, the broken up facade will alleviate any monotony along the street-wall.
Now on to the construction update! Here are two photos looking at the site from the same perspective as the above rendering. The most notable change from our last update is that foundation and pillars for the underground parking garage are now going vertical.
Given this was mostly a surface parking lot, it is a great sight seeing this much infill going up in such a prominent location along Broadway.
99 South Broadway should be vertical above the street-level by the spring. We will swing by for another visit around then.
Awesome! A lot of street facing crap has been built along the Broadway and other corridors, that ignores the commercial nature and general character of the corridor. This is an awesome way to fit a modern design into an existing street, that actually improves the street its on, while creating density!
I’d would have loved more stuff like this in the Tennyson corridor, vs. whats been built there.
This is great! Especially since the retail element looks like it continues around the block. And do I see an alley breaking it in half! This is a great addition to south broadway as it appears to expand on the retail community.
It should have been taller. Looks strange only 3 stories.
Bravo for all the commercial!
