Another site has been cleared in the Golden Triangle, with construction underway. With 990 Bannock, Evans West, and now Modera Golden Triangle underway, Bannock Street is going to be a very busy corridor with lots of construction activities taking place.
Modera Golden Triangle sits on the former site of the Rocky Mountain Public Media building, which has been demolished since our last Golden Triangle roundup. Below are a few photos of the project site showing that excavation and pier drilling is underway.
It’s great to see the momentum building in the Golden Triangle. In addition, this past weekend, the neighborhood gained two tower cranes; photos are to come soon.

Geez folks, I don’t know…
I rarely post negative comments on this site, but it seems to me that Denver keeps getting these cheap looking “land barge” buildings more and more often. If you look at Ryans first set of pics, you see the Citizen 10 building, which IMO has some really nice design elements to it and then go to picture three and BOOM two land barges about to be joined by a third… If you look at the renderings of this building, it looks like the balconies were super-glued on as an afterthought! The original renderings for this building in 2019 looked pretty good, could have been an exciting project but here we are with this stucco pile instead. Is there some kind of public comment period when these buildings are up for review? Its like the attitude is “well, its just Denver and those people will live in anything.” I’m not suggesting that every new build has to be iconic, but cant we have some level of standards? Some level of pride in what is being built here? LOL, I guess I’m getting old and shake my fist telling kids to get off my lawn! Peace all!
Well good news… Golden Triangle now has design review!
That is GREAT news! Can we, mere mortals, participate in the review process? Thanks! And thanks
Jeffrey and Diego for your kind comments 🙂
You can join the meetings here for downtown, Golden Triangle, etc. There are a few others that I linked further below.

Thanks for the info!
Personally I like the land barges, beats walking by what was there before. Atleast the streets have been widened, lit at night. Come checkout the building in real life, the citzen’s east side has a nice town home side that matches the lofts to its east. The west and soth sides get a ton of sun, the white wash is super helpful with managing that heat.
I agree, Patrick. It’s as if Denver residents have no input. It’s as if we don’t care if a Colorado building doesn’t look like Colorado and looking like Cleveland is OK. Upper class tenements.
Define “looks like Colorado”
Patrick, thank you and well said.
The VE process has been brutal these days. Hard to criticize in this climate, and a miracle anything is getting built considering supply chain issues and cost escalation. Thankful to have more housing, and it’ll just be another scrape and rebuild in 15-20 years. Job security.
