Back in April, we announced that Populus was close to starting construction. Fast forward to the present day, and there is now a hole in the ground with construction underway. Populus doesn’t have a lot going on underground, so excavation is already nearly complete.
Here are a few photos from around the construction site. A pier drilling rig, mobile crane, and a tower crane base have been moved onto the project site. Shortly, we should see a white tower crane get erected at the edge of the project site.
Below are two additional photos showing the project site from above. It appears that the project has already “bottomed out,” so it’s all vertical from here.
It’s exciting to see Populus, sporting a bold design, go vertical!

Very, very cool. This goes well with the Gio Ponti castle.
This is exciting, as is the look of the future building!
I’m sure it will look better in person, but for me it looks like something from a bygone era that needs to be torn down. Although, Denver is in desperate need of some snazzier architecture, so I’ll keep an open mind.
