Since our last Downtown roundup in August, 1900 Lawrence has officially made it out of the ground, with the steel structure and core now multiple floors up. Along with the 18th and Glenarm condos, this project is tied for the tallest project under construction in Denver.
Like many office buildings we have covered in the past, the current scene at 1900 Lawrence is standard for its progress; a sizable concrete core, with the steel catching up a few floors behind. The only difference with 1900 Lawrence is that there isn’t a large concrete podium before the start of the steel structure. Below are a few photos looking at the project from the street level.
Next up, a few more square-on photos showing the height and bulk of the elevator core.
Seeing this project get out of the ground and go vertical is exciting. When complete, it will make a nice impact on the northern skyline standing at 30 stories and 400 feet.
Project Description | Developer | Architect | Contractor |
---|---|---|---|
30 Stories | 700,000 sq ft office | 630 (v) parking | Riverside | Goettsch Partners | Hensel Phelps |
Can’t wait for this to be finished and the adjacent lot to start being developed!
Will we really go back to office buildings or should we offer more high-rise apartments/condos?
Yes to both, but we should build higher-quality office buildings with flexible workspace and convert as many older office buildings as possible to apts/condos.
As soon as the labor market flips WFH is toast. It’s only a matter of time.
