The Lower Highland neighborhood is sizzling with new development and today we are going over to 17th and Boulder to look at the 1736 Boulder Street project. To refresh your memory on exactly what is going there, head on over to the project announcement here.
A lot of the 5-story developments around downtown are being constructed with wood framing, but 1736 Boulder appears to be a steel/concrete build. This development will also be pursuing LEED-Silver certification, which is great for a 5-story residential building!
The 73-unit apartment building is expected to be complete by Summer 2013. There is a lot of development everywhere you turn in the Lower Highlands. Stay tuned for more updates!
Thanks for the update. The Highlands have really come a long way since I grew up in Denver in the 80’s. It really is a great location so I can see why it has become such a desirable place to live. I would love to see how all the new streetscaping on Central, including the new 15th street bridge, turned out and how it fits in with the neighborhood.
That’s nice to see. What’s not nice to see is the almost total lack of attention to natural aesthetics in LoHi. The rush to develop seems to lack consideration for landscaping.
