I’m going to be in Denver in early July and one of the first things I’m going to do is check out the CPV. This canopy better be done by the time I get there! (just kidding!)
And 1650 Wewatta better be sticking out of the ground by the time I get there too!
Was the canopy structure designed to have glass panels replace the canopy tarp in the future?
Huh? Why would they do that? If they were going to put glass wouldn’t they just do that now?
Not that I’m aware of. That would sort of defeat the idea of providing some shade.
Well, I was thinking long term. Eventually, the white tarp will be out of date and old. It would have been nice to use glass panels like they did at Berlin’s central station.
Just like the terminal at DIA, when the fabric panels wear out, I assume they’ll just replace them. I suppose from an engineering perspective it might be possible to someday replace the fabric with something else, like glass. I’m really not sure.
Whatever the fabric might be replaced with there will still be a HUGE hole in the middle of the stupid thing letting all forms of bad weather in, making Denver the laughing stock of all cities with proper train sheds.
