The last time we visited the 19th and Chestnut project, the tower crane was getting installed at the project site. In just a few months, this project has made swift vertical progress. The structure is almost halfway up, with the elevator cores reaching over the halfway mark.
Here are a few photos from around the project site from this past weekend. When complete, a 13-story building will add a nice amount of height and density in the last “empty” section of the Union Station neighborhood.
While there are no current plans for the last developable lot in the Union Station neighborhood, it’s great to see a project utilizing its maximum allowable density on a fairly small lot.
Project Description | Developer | Architect | Contractor |
---|---|---|---|
13 Stories | 198 apt homes | 13 (v) parking |
Greystar | Shears Adkins Rockmore | Shaw Construction |
I have enjoyed your website for years. I am now retired from the architecture business, but still keep in contact with your site. I was wondering if you’re going to be covering the new proposal for the 47 story tower at 17th and California?
Keep up the great work!
Thanks for your comment, and yes we’ll be covering that new proposed tower.
Still cant believe this area is only zoned of 13 stories. I would love to see a point tower of 30+ stories on that last remaining parcel to the south. Does anyone know if the new affordable requirements being rolled out across the city would allow that developer to take advantage of greater density? Need to put more density in the heart of downtown.
I think there is one prime lot left in US. Is that zoned to 13 stories too? Since it’s the last lot, is there a chance a developer could apply for 24-30 stories if they commit affordable units or something ?
Any chance Denver Infill does an updated 3D future skyline update soon? Always loved checking out the 2019 and 2020 versions.
