We have a very exciting update for 1144 Fifteenth today. Almost exactly a month ago, we said we would revisit this project under two conditions:
- If the steel structure starting rising above the parking structure.
- If the glass facade started going up.
Today is all about the glass, as we spotted the new facade going up on the Lawrence side of 1144 Fifteenth. Here are two closeups of the new glass. Since the parking structure will be fully enclosed, some screening will be used for ventilation.
If you look closely, you can also see some of the paneling start go up on the corner of the building.
Seeing how there is glass lined up on every floor, I’m sure significant facade progress will be made in the next few weeks.
Seeing the glass panels makes me even more excited for this building! From the looks of it, we are getting close to steel going up as those concrete columns on top of the 11th floor looks to be the top of the parking structure.
I know that in the newest renderings that came out around ground breaking, there was to be a lighting feature at the top of the building. Is that still the case? Obviously the building will look gorgeous during day/evenings, but nighttime illumination can be just as important imo.
You are correct about the parking structure, the next floor should be steel! Last I heard, they are not going to light up the crown due to it shining directly into the windows of the Four Seasons condos. However, there will still be a lighting feature on the two skinny sides of building.
If only it was 5 stories taller so the crown would be above the roof of the Four Seasons. 😉
Would love to see an accidental 5 floors added. 😉
the structural engineer probably wouldn’t…
dang! this is the first i’m hearing about the omission of the crown lighting… what a shame 🙁 that would have been an amazing element for this stunning building, but also for the downtown denver skyline. what a disappointment…
Yeah, well this is Denver, so… disappointment in our architectural competency is par for the course here.
At least there will be some lighting. If it’s pointed up the sides from below, that may look pretty cool actually, given the glass facade. I am assuming that’s the setup with the lighting on the side.
I can’t wait to see this start to rise! I assume once the steel begins, it’ll rise faster?
Yes. That is correct!
Why oh why couldn’t this have at least been 715′?
*clapping hands*
amen!! :/
Seriously though…
It’s official, steel beams are going up on the south side of the building!
Ryan’s working on a post on that right now!
Yes I am! 🙂
Did they recently jump the crane on this? I’m pretty sure I could see it way up there…from Stapleton! I haven’t been downtown in a couple weeks.
This weekend they were working on jumping it (I have an update posting tomorrow on it). They really jumped the Country Club Towers crane, so you might be seeing that too.
