The Coloradan, Union Station’s first condo project, is making great progress. Since our September update, excavation has commenced for the two underground parking levels.
This weekend, I took some aerials of The Coloradan for GE Johnson Construction, the project’s builder. Here are two vantage points looking south and west.
The Union Station neighborhood is starting to come together nicely with a great street-wall running down Wewatta. In the second photo, you can really see how large of a gap The Coloradan is going to fill.
This is such an exciting project for Union Station. Not only does it fill in a huge lot, it also provides for-sale housing, which is needed in Denver!
Nice update, thanks for sharing. There’s that tiny triangular lot just to the north of this tract. I wonder if there’ll ever be anything there? Maybe park benches? Maybe a hot dog stand? Any other ideas?
That would be a nice touch.
Dog park!
public art…12 story blow dryer
btw…looks like they aren’t building up to where 18th st would go through (if it went through), so there’s actually even more space there than just the triangle lot. it’ll be interesting to see what happens there.
That portion of the parcel will provide vehicular access to the public and residential garages as well as the loading docks for the building.
I vote for a low-income residence built out of shipping containers at the site. Have it become a little artists colony in the midst of the posh.
