Riverview at 1700 Platte is a 210,000-square foot office building with ground-floor retail under construction on historic Platte Street in Lower Highland. Ryan visited the project in June so let’s check on the progress since then. For all our posts on this development, click here.

Let’s begin by looking up and down Platte Street at the project, plus straight-on at the main entry in the center of the building.

Here are views from Central Street across I-25 and from an adjacent property. In both photos we see surface parking lots—one directly across Platte Street from the site and one next door to the northeast—representing future infill development opportunities.

Fairly unique among downtown infill developments, Riverview at 1700 Platte’s rear elevation doesn’t face an alley but the South Platte River, giving it an opportunity to have two “front” elevations. From the South Platte River Trail below the building, we see that much of the glass curtain wall facing the river and the downtown skyline is already in place.

From across the river in Commons Park, we see that the building’s downtown side is taking shape, including… brick! While the brick facade hasn’t yet started on the Platte Street side, it’s quite far along on the project’s interior courtyard visible from the east.

Let’s end with one last image, this one taken from inside and through the Common Ground public art piece in Commons Park.

We’ll stop by Riverview at 1700 Platte in a few months as it approaches its Spring 2018 completion.
