Construction is still busy around Downtown Denver with a few projects now showing us a preview of what they will look like upon completion. Outside of this post, there are a few projects that are beginning to wrap up around Downtown such as Block 162, Market Station, The Fitzgerald, and McGregor Square. We will visit those projects at a later date and include them in the neighborhood round-up posts.
Thompson Hotel. After topping out back in October, the building has been wrapped in tarp with facade work underway. We are now able to see a preview of the facade on the lower floors. When looking back at the renderings, you can see that the same brick will be mirrored on the top floors and the metal sections will be treated with what looks like a metal pattern.
The Link. While this isn’t a new facade, it is quite a stunning revitalization when comparing what this building used to look like. The Link is now mostly complete with a new facade of blue patterned glass.
Hyatt Centric. The Hyatt Centric is still mostly wrapped up in tarp but you can see some of the window treatments and completed paneling on the alley side of the project. Please note, the exposed yellow portions are not yet complete and will be a different color.
That’s it for this update! We will be visiting Arapahoe Square next where multiple projects are now getting out of the ground.
Welcome back DenverInfill! We missed your posts the past few weeks. Hoping for exciting new development news the remainder of this year as things start to return to the new normal. All three projects are a good fit for downtown Denver.
Thank you for the updates. I check your site every week hoping for new postings… l’m a big fan!
Not a huge fan of the grey brick selection at the Thompson Hotel or Market Station, it feels relatively dull and uninviting. However, I greatly applaud the architectural attention to the window wells at the Thompson Hotel. The multiple levels of indentation & depth make this building incredibly more interesting to observe than Market Station. This attention also ties the building into the historical context of the neighborhood and street much better than Market Station. Once complete, I think the Thompson hotel will be a much needed addition to this corner to really transition the historical buildings on the block with the more modern / simplistic buildings on the block.
Great update, thanks!
Great update! Thanks for all the photos.
Any clue what’s going on at 16th and Park/Lafayette?
Once again, great photos. Regarding the Hyatt Centric, maintenance would probably be difficult in Colorado’s intense sunshine, but the yellow against the Colorado blue sky really appeals to me. Too bad it’s only temporary.
The Link is a huge improvement over what was there. Not sure what the purpose is of the change from blue to black. Should have just used the blue all the way.
