T3 RiNo, featuring a cross-laminated timber structure, is at a visually appealing stage in the construction process. As the glass facade goes up on the lower floors, the beautiful timber structure is still mostly exposed to the public eye. Furthermore, the primary structure is close to topping out at six stories.
Let’s begin our tour of T3 RiNo from multiple angles around the project. The glass facade has started to go up on the lower floors, still allowing a preview of the cross-laminated timber structure from the street level.
Moving on, here are a couple of closeups of the timber structure and glass facade. The progress and scene at T3 RiNo is reminiscent of Platte Fifteen in 2018, with another great display of a heavy timber structure.
Wrapping up, below are a few project aerials from across the 35th-36th Street pedestrian bridge.
The densification of River North is still a sight to behold, as many projects are topping out and starting to take shape.
Project Description | Developer | Architect | Contractor |
---|---|---|---|
6 Stories | 238k sf office | 17k sf retail | 377 (v) 100 (b) parking | Hines | Pickard Chilton | Whiting Turner |
I love how they’ve done the wood grain homage in the curtainwall. Very cool concept – this is going to be a beautiful building.
Wonder if they erect this structure using carpenters or ironworkers! I could see an argument either way. Or maybe there’s a specific trade emerging to erect CLT structures, which is more likely I suppose.
It’s hard to believe how vertical River North has grown in the last few years. Thanks for the great post and photos!
