Let’s kick off the new month with an Arapahoe Square update. Currently, three major projects are under construction, with another proposed that will contribute a great deal to the Welton Corridor.

With all the vertical development taking place, Arapahoe Square is also receiving a boost in overall height thanks to projects north of 20 stories.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

X Denver 2. If you missed our final update on X Denver, please head over there for some clarification of the project names and why this project is now named X Denver 2. While we recently visited the project, we have some fresh photos today. Currently, work is underway for the fifth floor. When complete, the 22-story building will be the tallest in Arapahoe Square.

2175 California. Now named Legacy Lofts, this nine-story project, developed by the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, is making great progress. Work has begun on the seventh floor, with the cores now topped out. Light gauge steel is being used on levels four through nine over a four-story concrete structure.

600 Park Avenue. The 12-story elevator cores have topped out at 600 Park Avenue, which essentially matches the height of its neighbor Alexan Arapahoe Square. This project helps balance out the west side of Welton Street while remaining more slender than its neighbors. Currently, the concrete structure is up to four stories.

PROPOSED

2000 Welton Street. As we mentioned in our previous roundup post, the fourth rendition of X Denver was slated for this lot. However, new plans filed with the city extend the height from 18 stories to 23 stories. Davis Partnership is now the architect of record for this new project. Since this resides within the boundaries of the Downtown Design Advisory Board, we will see plans come through if / when this project moves forward.

Other notable projects proposed in Arapahoe Square like Kenect Denver, 2215 California, and Evolve Towers have not moved since our last roundup in April. We are keeping a close on these and will keep you updated as they move along.

That’s a wrap for Arapahoe Square. It’s great to see all the vertical development taking place!
